Key West has this awesome event every year called “A Taste of Key West”. This event is a favorite for locals and toursists in town. Every year this event falls around April 20th and is widely published in local papers and the Key West Citizen too. The event gives all local restauranteurs the opportunity to showcase their signature dishes for folks to sample. It is kind of like a large Tapas party. Located on the Truman Waterfront which is directly at the end of Southard St. There are also many different types of wines to pair with the magnitude of Tapas.The Truman Waterfront area hosts the Taste of Key West again this year. The area surrounding the Taste of Key West is also home to some of Key West’s premier real estate. This section of Old Town Key West is referred to as the Truman Annex. One can find some of the nicest condo’s and Single Family homes in Old Town. A fair percentage of this area offers waterfront property with views of Sunset Key.Riding your bike in is recommended, as this way one can try a few more of the decadent wines Key West restaurants and Key West wine bars have to offer.
Admission is free…food and wine tickets cost $1 each with “tastes” ranging from $3 to $8. Participants can begin arriving at 5:00 p.m. to purchase their glasses and tickets prior to the gates opening promptly at 6:00 p.m. Enjoy, see you there.
