Moving to Key West Checklist

SEND YOUR NEW ADDRESS TO:

 Post Office
 Bank
 Credit Card Companies
 Friends and Relatives
 Insurance Companies – Health, Life, Auto, etc
 Automobile – Transfer of car title registration, driver’s license address
 Utility Companies – Gas, Electric, Water, Internet , Cable
 Home delivery subscriptions – Newspaper, Magazine, etc.

SCHOOL RECORDS – Ask for copies and transfer children’s school records.

MEDICAL RECORDS – Ask doctor and dentist for referrals and transfer needed record, prescriptions, x-rays, etc.

PETS – Ask about local veterinarians, pet licenses, tags, etc

DON’T FORGET TO:

Empty freezers – Plan use of foods 1 week ahead
Defrost freezer/refrigerator
Have appliances serviced for moving
Set up connections for utilities – Water, Electric, Internet, etc
Contact your mover and confirm their insurance coverage, packing and unpacking labor costs, method and time of expected payment
Plan special care of children and pets if needed during the move

ON MOVING DAY:

Carry money, jewelry and important documents yourself
Double check closets, drawers and shelves to confirm they’re empty
Leave old keys, alarm codes needed by new owner
